Privacy Policy
The Basics
ScreenDiary is an app designed to respect your privacy. In keeping with our commitment to maintaining the highest levels of privacy protection, we've prepared this simple, plain-language Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy explains how we interact with your data.
Personal Information
ScreenDiary does not collect or store personal information such as your name, email address, or location. However, the app uses Google AdMob to serve advertisements.
- AdMob may collect and process certain data from your device, such as an advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS), IP address, and general usage data, to deliver relevant ads.
- For users in the EU, UK, and select other regions, the app provides an option to review and manage ad consent in compliance with GDPR regulations.
- If you opt out of personalized ads, Google will only show non-personalized ads based on contextual data rather than user profiling.
For more details on how Google collects and uses data, refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
In-App Purchases and Subscriptions
ScreenDiary offers optional in-app purchases and subscriptions to unlock additional features. These transactions are processed securely through Apple's App Store, and ScreenDiary does not collect or store any payment information.
To manage entitlements and verify purchases, ScreenDiary integrates the RevenueCat SDK. RevenueCat provides anonymous analytics related to in-app purchases and subscriptions, such as purchase history and subscription status, to ensure your premium access functions correctly. No personally identifiable information is shared with or collected by ScreenDiary through this process.
For more details on RevenueCat's data handling, refer to RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Super Recommendations
ScreenDiary's Super Recommendations feature uses AI to suggest movies based on your preferences.
- Requests made through Super Recommendations are sent anonymously to OpenAI.
- While we aim for accurate recommendations, AI-generated suggestions may occasionally contain errors or incorrectly formatted responses.
- By using this feature, you agree to share your requests anonymously with OpenAI.
For more details on OpenAI's privacy practices, refer to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
API Requests
ScreenDiary makes API requests to The Movie Database (TMDB) to display information about movies. These requests are made in a way that doesn't share any of your personal information with TMDB.
Data Storage & iCloud Syncing
All data generated by ScreenDiary is stored locally on your device and can be synced with iCloud for backup and multi-device access. Scanned tickets are not included in cloud syncing.
Locally stored data can be exported to a CSV file for backup or transfer.
Photo Importing / Ticket Scanning
ScreenDiary includes a ticket scanning feature that lets you import photos from your library. We use Apple's native secure method PHPickerViewController for this, which means ScreenDiary only gets access to the images you specifically choose to import.
Third-Party Links
ScreenDiary displays links and content from third-party databases and websites, and downloads image files directly from third-party servers. These third-party sites have their own independent privacy policies, and we have no responsibility or liability for their content or activities.
Security
Your security is a priority for us. We implement a variety of measures to help keep your information secure, such as requiring HTTPS for all communication with the app and website.
Consent
By using ScreenDiary, you agree to this Privacy Policy.
